James Rodriguez, Jr. (Aerospace Academy), Emmitt Zamora (Aerospace Academy), Sebastian Hernandez (Health Professions Academy), Antonio Leal (Health Professions Academy), Michael Swindler (Health Professions Academy), Noah Becker (ITSA), Joshua Hardeman (ITSA), Tamara Havis (ITSA), Karly Ueckert (ITSA), Isabel Valadez (ITSA)
Ten sophomores from Wagner High School have been accepted into the Alamo Academy Program. That means these ten students will be taking dual credit classes in the upcoming 2014-2015 school year that will go toward a college degree while they are still attending public school. Three will be attending classes at San Antonio College (SAC) in the Health Professions Academy and the other seven will be taking classes at St. Philips College (SPC) Southwest Campus in the Information Technology & Security Academy and the Aerospace Academy. Being accepted to these programs was no walk in the park either. The students completed Apply Texas, AlamoEnroll, took the TSI Exam and completed all dual credit requirements. Maintaining good grades and attendance was also necessary. In the end these students will put 31-34 college hours in their back pocket and will get a great start on what they want to do after school. Students in the ITSA and Aerospace programs will participate in paid summer internships with companies like Boeing and Lockheed Martin while the Health Profession students will be able to ramp right into the SAC Nursing Program. Congratulations.
